Hi there! My name is Andrea Rodriguez, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Candidate hailing from Miami, Florida. Growing up in a vibrant, multicultural city and having parents who immigrated from Nicaragua, I’ve developed a keen awareness of the diverse challenges faced by immigrant and low-income families. This background, personal experience, and a general interest in the human psyche, have inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a significant difference in people’s lives.
I earned my master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University, where I developed skills in Solution-Focused Coaching, Couples Therapy, and Group Psychotherapy. My education and hands-on experiences have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of family dynamics and the effective application of various therapeutic techniques such as Solution-Focused, Narrative, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Psychodynamic therapy.
My approach is grounded in empathy and a deep commitment to understanding each individual’s unique situation. I believe that sessions should be tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of each client, couple, or family. My primary goal is to create a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where clients can openly explore their challenges and work towards meaningful solutions.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two fur-babies (Monty, a sophisticated Pekeapom, and Odin, a mischievous one-eyed Pomsky!), playing video games, watching anime or a good k-drama, hiking in the mountains, visiting local coffee shops, eating delicious pastries, and doing hot yoga!
I am delighted to be a part of SCC and look forward to accompanying others on their journey towards self-improvement and healing.
