Substance abuse, adolescent behavior, families and parenting, foster care
I was born and raised in Morris, Minnesota. I was raised in a large family with seven brothers and one sister. I have been married since 1989, and have raised three wonderful children. I graduated Morris High School in 1976, completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Human Services in 1988 from the University of Minnesota-Morris, and completed my Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1991 from Emporia State University, Kansas.
I have been working as a mental health professional and substance abuse counselor since 1984. My professional career started as a detoxification technician at a regional hospital in Minnesota in 1984, and then as a substance abuse counselor and case manager at that same hospital until 1989. It was at this time that I decided to pursue my career further as a mental health professional so I moved to Emporia, KS and completed my Master’s Degree. After working at a community mental health center in Concordia, KS for four years, I then moved to the great State of Wyoming and worked at the mental health center in Evanston for 12 years as a clinician/program manager/clinical supervisor. In 2007 my wife and I relocated to Southeastern Arizona where I was employed as a mental health director for over two years.
However, the great State of Wyoming kept calling my name so we relocated to Cheyenne in 2009 to pursue my current role as a private practice professional. I provide outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults with all types of needs. My specialty areas include behavioral problems with children, family and spouse conflicts, blended family issues, substance abuse issues, depression and trauma issues, foster home/adoption related cases, and Christian counseling services.
I am a grandfather of six, and enjoy time with my family. I also enjoy a variety of outdoor experiences like hiking, skiing, hunting and fishing, and riding my Harley-Davidson whenever I get the chance. I also love reading and learning new things, and I am very committed to a strong spiritual lifestyle.
