I’m Kristin, and I’m so honored to be a part of the Specialty Counseling team. After growing up primarily in Northern Colorado, I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from CU Boulder in 1994. After pursuing corporate and creative endeavors in Colorado and New York City for a few (okay…quite a few) years, I felt a pull toward a helping profession. Thanks to a very persuasive admissions counselor, I enrolled at Simmons University in 2017, earning a Master of Social Work in 2021.
I’ve worked in mental healthcare since 2018 as an addiction management coach, case manager, intake coordinator, residential floor counselor, and therapist. My training and experience are in trauma treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, EMDR, and forensic social work. I serve clients of all ages, and especially enjoy working with adolescents.
My free time is spent paddle boarding, reading, watching documentaries, going to comedy shows, and wrangling my dogs. Thank you for the opportunity to join you on your journey of healing and growth.
