Career Opportunities

At Specialty Counseling, we’re building a team of thoughtful, committed people who believe in dignified, evidence‑informed care. We welcome clinicians, case coordinators, peer specialists, and administrative staff who bring curiosity, humility, and a desire to make a real difference in Wyoming and Colorado. Our culture centers on collaboration, ongoing learning, and respectful support. We value diverse perspectives and hire people who are excited to grow with us.

We offer meaningful work across a variety of clinical and support roles. Clinicians can expect a caseload that balances challenge with support, opportunities for supervised practice, and access to specialty rotations (trauma/EMDR, adolescent services, group facilitation, neurodiversity supports, and more). Support staff and case managers play a vital role in coordinating care, connecting clients to community resources, and keeping services running smoothly.

We invest in professional development and a workplace that helps people stay well while they help others. Team members benefit from regular clinical supervision, peer consultation, and chances to attend continuing education. Many positions offer flexible scheduling and competitive compensation and benefits; specifics vary by role and are listed on each job posting. We are committed to equitable hiring and creating a welcoming environment for candidates of all backgrounds and identities.

Internship Opportunities

NOTE: Our Colorado internships are full, and our Wyoming and Laramie internships are nearing capacity. These will be full until May 2027, but we are still accepting applications for future placement.

At Specialty Counseling, our internship program is designed to bridge classroom learning and real-world clinical practice. We offer a competency‑based, structured training experience that empowers graduate students to grow as clinicians while contributing meaningfully to client care. Interns join a collaborative team of licensed therapists, case coordinators, peer specialists, and medication providers, gaining supervised, hands‑on experience across individual, family, couples, and group modalities.

Our aim is to help you translate coursework into clinical skill. Interns participate in client assessment, treatment planning, evidence‑informed interventions, and multidisciplinary coordination while receiving regular supervision that supports clinical decision‑making and professional development. The program emphasizes autonomy within a supportive framework: you will be encouraged to take responsibility for your learning, practice problem‑solving, and progressively manage more complex tasks as your competency grows.

Eligibility and expectations are straightforward and student‑friendly. Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s or Doctoral) in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work, and remain eligible students for the duration of the placement. All interns must also be able to pass a background check prior to placement.

To promote continuity of care and meaningful professional growth, SCC generally prioritizes interns who plan to complete both their first and second internship placements with our agency. Experience has shown that remaining at the same site without interruption through graduation is most beneficial for clients, the agency, and the intern’s clinical development.
